We offer a variety of design, consultancy and build options which can be tailored to suit your budget.
For example, designs can be a simple line drawing of ideas we have discussed. Or they may include a detailed planting plan or an A1 sized garden layout drawn to scale. (Detailed, scaled plans are essential if you intend on obtaining several quotes from landscaping companies.)
Site visit / client interview
A site visit allows us to discuss your requirements for the garden, your likes and dislikes, and for you to have an understanding of the choices of services available to you. Perhaps you want plenty of room for the kids to play or you may wish to attract a greater variety of beneficial insects and wildlife to your garden or be heavily dedicated to growing home produce, the choices are practically endless.
It’s important to get it right, as you could be living with your garden for a long time. A client interview will enable us to interpret your desires and necessities for the garden and deliver a design to match your own individuality.
With an arranged one-off visit you can seek advice or ideas on how to achieve the best for your garden, discuss garden planning and the use of materials and plants. Your budget may not stretch to having a full garden design produced but a bit of professional advice may be all that you need to get you on the way to designing your own garden.

These can either be part of a full design service or as a stand-alone solution. Provisional plans or visuals are used to identify the general components of a design or as an ideas option to help you to develop your own plan. They also help to establish the basis for a full design. They are normally basic sketches not necessarily to scale, but containing enough information to convey the main elements of the design idea.
3D / Video Option
In addition to our standard 2D plans and designs we also offer 3D images and "Fly Through" videos for the more complicated or in-depth designs. This also gives you the added benefit of viewing the garden from various rooms within the house ensuring the proposed design meets your expectations. For example; "Will we be able to see the kids playing in the pool from the kitchen? How much of the garden will we see from the master bedroom?" or "Where will the shadows fall through the seasons?" These are all questions that can be answered with the 3D option.
Having worked with some of New Zealand’s leading design and landscape construction businesses we are perfectly placed to source professional landscapers who we know are capable of constructing beautifully crafted gardens to the highest quality. If you have a busy lifestyle or simply cannot afford the time but want peace of mind that the finished garden meets with your expectations we can oversee projects to ensure work is carried out in accordance with the design. We can make periodic checks to ensure the quality of workmanship is maintained, that the project runs to schedule and the integrity of the design is protected.
NE Landscape Design are often sub-contracted by landscape construction companies to undertake the design element of their business. Many construction companies understand that to have a fully employed designer on their payroll could greatly affect their ability to remain competitive. Much of the work undertaken by us is done on a commercial footing with various landscape companies in the Auckland area.
All sub-contract work undertaken is done so under the the strictest confidence and under the identity of the contracting company with all intellectual rights protected.

In addition to our freelance options, we also offer our own construction solutions. Ever mindful that budgets are best spent on the creation of the garden and not necessarily tied up with the numerous design options available, we can take on the construction of the chosen garden design. Using qualified and experienced builders with attention to detail, quality and customer satisfaction, our initial design fee can be partially refunded so that you can direct the funds into the garden build rather than having them locked away in the design.
